Cinema: A boon or Bane?

Theatres , Cinema , stage-plays etc have always played a crucial role when it comes to entertainment , spreading social awareness, bringing about  change and even it has a huge impact on developing minds i.e youth . 

We all have been witnessing change in Quality of films or cinema over the time. Also, this change has been positive in bringing the suppressed topics which aren't often discussed or are considered as taboo . Since every coin has two sides , so does the cinema. It has negatively impacted the young generation by portraying erroneous meaning of various aspects. love , success ,student life etc to name a few. These factors seem to have different meaning in the world of cinema which has barely anything to do with reality.

Next thing which is ruling the generation is WEB SERIES. There have been so many platforms for this, Netflix, Amazon prime, and many more which show us hidden talent around the globe. without a doubt, they feature thousands of engrossing series which make the audience binge watch it. Also they work as a great relaxing therapies! But does it end here? Absolutely NO!!

Again like every other thing, it has negative side, which has gone out of control. Audience has reached a great height of ridiculousness . 

 A recent case, In Faridabad city, a girl named Nikita rejected the love proposal of a guy. For this rejection, she was shot by him. The antagonist said that he was inspired by well-renown web series 'MIRZAPUR'. A scene from this series, where a character 'Munna bhaiya' shot his love interest 'Sweety pandit' for she didn't accept his proposal.

This case can be considered to show how audience is getting affected by the reel world definition of things which has no resemblance to reality.  Taking a cue from such things eventually leads to cases like the one mentioned above.

Few questions that now arise are,

  1. Should audience get inspired from such movies/series
  2. Can't Movies and series be taken light-heartedly?
  3. will such cases continue to come forth till the cinema sustains?
